Blue plaque for Dr Marion Phillips

Thanks to Dr Sarah Hellawell’s research, the work of Sunderland’s first female MP, Dr Marion Phillips, is going to be commemorated in a blue plaque in September 2019.  On 13th September, a blue plaque will be unveiled at 18 Foyle Street, site of the former offices of the Labour Party whilst Marion was MP.  The unveiling will be at 3pm, and there will be a networking reception in 170 High Street West (with tea and cake) afterwards.  Everyone is welcome to attend both parts, but if you want to come to the reception, could you book your place using Eventbright, just so we have an idea of numbers for catering.  There is little in life that is worse than running of out cake.  https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/marian-phillips-plaque-unveiling-tickets-70602200081
