Get the most out of your library service: Patient videos

Health Talk & Speaking Clinically are two sites where you can watch videos of patients describing their lived experience of a condition.

You can find out about what it’s like to live with a health condition by watching other people share their stories.

HealthTalk.org is a free website that hosts videos of thousands of people sharing their experiences of a wide range of health conditions.

The content is based on academic qualitative research, from non-commercial funding sources.

Speaking Clinically is an additional video archive of patients talking openly about their medical conditions provided to all Medical Schools by the Medical Schools Council.

Medical students at the University of Sunderland have access and will need to sign into this resource using their university username and password. Contact your liaison librarian, Cheryl Francis, if you’re a Medical School student who cannot access it.
