New resources on Gastronomy – Subject Spotlight
I’ve collated some of the recent sources published on Gastronomy as it relates to the tourism, hospitality and events industries. I’ve given examples of some books as well as book chapters, journal articles and industry reports.
Remember – these are just some examples – you’ll find more when you use Library Search.
New books and ebooks
Book Chapters
Gastronomy is quite a targeted subject and there are not as many books published specifically about it as other subjects – however there are a lot of books tourism and hospitality, and many of those have chapters which focus on gastronomy.
Chapter 39 of this title is called ‘Macao as a city of gastronomy‘.
Chapter 6 of this title is ‘Entrepreneurship development and Slow Food events‘.
Tip: Make sure you check the contents of more general books to find relevant chapters – there is often a contents list available directly from the Library Catalogue record of a book.

Recent Journal Articles

Industry Reports
There are industry reports on the IBISWorld database that will be of interest to students studying Gastronomy. One in particular is:
- Full Service Restaurants in the UK – this report includes a detailed look of industry giving key statistics and industry performance.
