How to keep up-to-date with new blog posts

Our team of Academic Liaison Librarians are doing a excellent job of keeping you up-to-date with resources and services relevant to you.

One of the ways we do this is by posting to the library’s subject blogs. You can find your subject pages by going to our subject support pages and selecting your subject area. Depending on the nature of your studies or research, you may wish to explore more than one area.

  • The ‘key resources’ button takes you to important resources for your subject.
  • The ‘spotlight’ button takes you to the subject blog written by your Academic Liaison Librarian specifically to help keep you to up-to-date with new resources and services, or highlighting useful sites for you to explore.

To keep on top of new blog posts appearing in the ‘spotlight, you can set up an RSS feed to receive alerts to new posts. This saves you having to keep remembering to check the blog for new information.

  • There are a number of ‘RSS feed readers‘ available, which you can use to store your RSS feeds – it is up to you which you chose to use.
  • To get the right url for your RSS feed, go to the spotlight page for your subject and add ‘/feed’ onto the end of the url. For example, to set up an RSS feed to the arts and design spotlight, your url would look lik this – https://wp.sunderland.ac.uk/uniofsunlib/Subject/ad/feed.

Now, go and set up RSS feeds to the blogs you’d like to keep up-to-date with, sit back, relax and let the news come to you!
