Study Skills support online

Studying at home is a new world for most people, but don’t worry, Study Skills support is still here for you. It looks a little different, so you might be wondering how it works online?

There are still three main ways for you to get involved with Study Skills advice and guidance:

  1. all our Study Skills guides are available online
  2. Study Skills drop-ins are available on our Live Chat Service.
On Tuesdays 1-4pm and Thursdays 10am-1pm you can open the library website and start an online chat with one of our Study Skills advisers. Just start a chat and ask to speak to an adviser. This is an online chat so you don’t need to worry about having a working webcam, or making sure you’re not in your pj’s. Ask your question, no matter how big or small, and we’ll do our best to provide advice and guidance to help you with your studies.

  3. If you’ve got a bigger question, or you’re not available during drop-in, we are still offering Study Skills one-to-one appointments. These take place on Live Chat and via email. To request an appointment, you use the usual Study Skills Request Form, after which you’ll be allocated a slot with an adviser. As with the Study Skills drop-ins, you don’t need to have a webcam or video conferencing software. All you need to do is head to the Library website at the time of your appointment and start a chat by saying that you have an appointment with an adviser. You can then chat to the adviser, send sections of your work for comment, and discuss the ways we can help you improve your work.
