Creative Lives: Iain Nicholls

Prairie dog singingCreative Lives is a series of lectures about how artists work, live and thrive in the arts and creative industries.

Tuesday 26th March 4.00-5.00pm – Room 1, The Gateway, City Campus, Sunderland University

Iain Nicholls studied Painting at Chelsea School of Art and the Royal College of Art.

After working in the games industry for several years, he now works in the new medium of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality and collaborates with other artists, writers and historians.

His work has been exhibited – and owned – by collections nationally and internationally and he has received several Arts Council Grants to fund projects.

His recent VR work includes an art installation shown at the Barbican Centre and a recreation of a local Coal Mine as it would have been in 1902.

He is currently working on another VR art installation which will include paintings and 3D prints to be shown in 2020.
