Finding it hard to get information?

Well here’s what I Nargis Akthar have put together for all you creatives. It’s everything related to your designated subject area however exploring what else is available to you here at the Library in order for you to succeed with a high grade. When I first started my placement one thing that made me want to kick myself is not exploring the library publication options for when I really had to in first and second year. Knowing what I possibly could’ve used during those years to better my work or even my knowledge has really made me think about what I could do to help as a student myself. I want to make you understand that hey books may seem boring for us creatives but there’s so much in books that could inspire us, and there’s so much more than books such as Journals, Magazines and Media, all of which consist more of imagery rather than a load of text which I believe we prefer most. Journals and Magazines I really wish I knew of as they all date back to decades ago whereas at that point I was only using books and e- sources. The more knowledge the better the understanding right? Another thing I learnt is why stick to my own subject areas, why not explore other subjects that connect to mine which is fashion. For example print making such as calligraphy which is a connection to art which then could be imbedded into a garment design. To explore some of these areas why not look at the subject support page linked above on the University of Sunderland Library website.

I hope these sources help you realise your available options as without them we wouldn’t have the chance to succeed with flying marks!
