Partnership schools research network meeting November 2023

The School of Education was delighted to host a meeting of local primary schools at Wearside View today. Kevin Holland of Global Spirit Ed CIC and Dr Elizabeth Hidson from the InterAction unit introduced the work of the Student Agency In Learning network and the Mini Mind positive psychology scheme of work and resources to the assembled schools.

The schools were given an overview of the Mini Mind approach and invited to participate in a UKRO-funded participatory action research project. Participating schools will receive free Mini Mind training and materials and a contribution to staff release costs. They will work with the university to shape the way they embed and evaluate Mini Mind in their school as part of the research project, contributing to enhancing the evidence base for practical positive psychology approaches in primary schools.

Key to this work is that the collaboration will identify theories of change in each school and what works in different settings.
