University support for schools in the network
School identifies topics and priorities moving forward that align to existing school challenges and evaluation processes. Examples include: student agency, piloting approaches to quality first teaching, redeployment of classroom support, alternative intervention models, questioning, feedback, oracy, use of technology (including to address workload).
Designated school representative works university staff to develop and map these research plans into existing coaching, CPD, monitoring and evaluation processes. Staff may already have identified opportunities through NPQ school-improvement projects, MA programmes, appraisal, performance management, self-evaluation targets etc.
Support for taking pilot projects forward, always with the view that these can be developed and shaped as part of a progressive problem-solving aproach, and emphasising the importance of contextualised conversations about how to make research-informed practice suited to the needs of the school.
This can take the shape of supporting research triads/pairs, and/or buddying up with nominated staff.
Capturing practice as a mirror, for sharing more widely within the network and beyond.
